Cockahoop Creative CIC is a community arts organisation and communication training provider based in the North East.
We use theatre and our creative approaches to deliver meaningful projects in communities, access positive opportunities and develop skills.
Our Mission
We are a community arts organisation and communication training provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, theatre-based communication training for organisations.
Our mission is to enhance access to arts and culture by reinvesting our training work into inclusive, community-led creative projects. Through this model, we support people and communities who may face barriers to engaging with the arts.
By combining creativity, communication and co-creation, we create opportunities for personal development, stronger connections, and meaningful change.
Community Arts &
Creative Projects
We design and deliver inclusive, impactful and high-quality projects with communities and organisations across the North East.
Communication Training
We deliver communication training for organisations, teams, and professionals who want to improve how they connect with others.
Using theatre techniques, role-play and facilitated discussion, our training helps people to:
+ Communicate more clearly and confidently
+ Navigate difficult or sensitive conversations
+ Listen with empathy
+ Build trust and understanding
Our sessions are practical, engaging, and grounded in real-life scenarios. We believe communication is a skill and like any skill it should be practised, developed and strengthened.
Community Arts Projects
We design and deliver inclusive arts programmes with children, young people and communities across the North East.
Our projects are:
+ Co-created with participants
+ Responsive to local needs
+ Rooted in theatre, storytelling, and creative expression
We work with communities who may face barriers to accessing arts and culture, creating spaces that are welcoming, meaningful and connected to our local areas.
